STUDENTS TESTIMONIALS
Hi Prof Forder, I just wanted to comment with the other students, that is was an amazing experience having you teach this course to us! I am very impressed with your teaching methods, that I feel I learned and understand physiology now. I hope you come on board here at U of T full time soon. You deserve to be here to help more students like myself to learn and feel good about our courses. You have made such positive impact to many students; please know that you will never be forgotten! We will try our best to send this message across the board because you deserve recognition for being the best at what you do! I will miss you very much, and I hope I have this great experience again in the future! All the best in your teaching career.
Thanks, professor. It was a sincere pleasure being in your class, especially being a neuroscience student. You ARE teaching Cell Biology, right? I guess I’ll be seeing you again!
Professor Forder, I believe taking this course is a turning point in my life. I had taken many courses before, but only this I feel had clear direction. You actually knew how to motivate the students to study and learn the right way. Now, I am motivated more than ever to complete my degree and I know how to study the right way. Teaching should be about making every effort to pass down the knowledge, and you have just done that. We learned what we were supposed to and our grades are reflection of that (“B” class average does not indicate this is an easy course). I hope other Professors would learn to recognize that students and parents are working hard to pay for their education, and should teach with good direction. It may be about “survival of the fittest” in post-secondary studies, but a little direction and care can help a lot more students to survive. Thank you Professor Forder for a valuable experience.
You are one of the two good prof's I had all through university. And I put you as # 1. You are an extraordinary prof in each and every way. You teaching techniques were fabulous. I wish you the very best for future and keep up the excellent work.
I have learned tremendous learning techniques from you. Now I know how to pick up the important stuff from the
readings instead of copying down he whole page. You were truly a blessing for all of us. Once again THANK YOU.

No one else could have taught it better. Every moment was a pleasurable experience. I am glad that you are going to teach the Cell Biology course in the fall, I guess I will see you there next.

This course was a great experience made possible by an amazing professor.
Thank you Dr J. Your class was one of the most enjoyable that I have had.
Taking this course was a good experience in itself, while being taught by you was a bigger treat.
It was an honor for us to be in your class and actually understand the concepts rather than memorize pure factual information.

"Learning about teaching from Joan is a double whammy. First you learn about different teaching styles, then you get to see her demonstrate all of them as you continue learning. She's a fantastic and engaging teacher." Chris Corkney, Graduate Student, UWO
